Yes. Both lakes are TVA reservoirs, and any dock, pier, boathouse, or shoreline structure needs a TVA Section 26a permit before construction starts. We prepare the drawings and application, submit it for you, and build to TVA's size and setback rules so it's approved the first time. Decks attached to your home also need a Roane County building permit, which we pull.

Once permits are in hand, most decks are finished in 3–7 working days and most docks in 1–2 weeks. TVA permit review typically adds 4–8 weeks up front, so the best time to call is a season ahead of when you want to be on the water.

We build docks from ground-contact and marine-rated pressure-treated southern yellow pine with hot-dip galvanized or stainless hardware, so posts and framing stand up to Watts Bar's yearly winter drawdown. Cedar and composite decking are available for the walking surface if you want less maintenance.
